Director of Sales Responsibilities

  • Oversee recruitment, training, and management of sales staff, including scheduling, coaching, performance evaluations, and adherence to company policies.
  • Contribute to strategic sales plans; oversee action plans, quality control, problem resolution, and conduct audits.
  • Manage financial objectives by forecasting needs, preparing annual budgets, monitoring expenditures, analyzing variances, and initiating corrective measures.
  • Set and achieve annual sales quotas; project sales volume and profits for new and existing products; develop pricing strategies and monitor market trends.
  • Plan, develop, and evaluate advertising, merchandising, and trade promotion programs; create effective field sales action plans.
  • Identify market opportunities through consumer research; analyze market trends, competitor shares, and business forecasts.
  • Enhance product appeal and marketability by researching market opportunities; coordinate new product development.
  • Maintain strong relationships with key accounts through regular visits and understanding their needs.

Director of Sales Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a related field or equivalent work experience, coupled with five to ten years of industry experience.
  • Expertise in financial planning and strategy, along with strong marketing concepts and positioning.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of mortgage programs for all housing types and proficiency in people management, territory management, sales planning, and competitive analysis.
  • A solid understanding of customer needs, product development, client relationships, and exceptional project management skills.
