Summary About the Position: Serves as Staff Advisor, Protocol Officer, and principal civilian assistant to the Division Commander and assigned members of the Senior Executive Service. Incumbent assists in the formulation, execution, and executive direction of the policies and programs of the Division. Responsibilities Manages the operation of the Executive Office, to include coordination and control of division staff actions and functions. Provides executive level advice and assistance to the Division Commander and senior leadership. Develops and enforces performance standards, evaluates performance, prepares quarter/semi-annual performance counseling and/or annual performance ratings. Provides effective communications with other organizations such as Corps units, other agencies, and/or other state and local governments. Provides updates to Districts and Division leaders during staff meetings. Evaluates the effectiveness of functions, such as, mission accomplishment, performance metrics, regulations, procedures and policy. Attends and/or arranges for conferences requiring Command Group attendance/participation. Advises on all matters pertaining to Protocol, to assure proper operation for all functions. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes; Developing detailed plans, goals, and objectives for the long-range implementation and administration of USACE programs, Conducting analysis of various programs for effectiveness and/or shortfalls, Overseeing administrative support personnel, and Providing oversight on matters pertaining to Protocol. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-13).
