**License:** License eligible and completion of ARRT licensure within one year of hire
**Certifications:** Radiation Therapist - American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)

- Graduate of a Radiation Therapy Program
- Committed to quality and compassionate patient care
**Job Description:**
- Administer radiation treatments efficiently and accurately, maintaining proper department records.
- Ensure all localization films and portal verification films are routinely reviewed by supervising physician for proper positioning technique.
- Demonstrate working knowledge of EMR and Impac computer systems; assist in evaluating forms and routines for these systems.
- Assist patients as needed, including during entry or exit of the facility and treatment room, and dressing or undressing.
- Schedule patient appointments for radiation treatment and simulations; coordinate daily schedules.
- Maintain working knowledge of operational methods and safety standards for all ionizing radiation equipment within the department.
- Deliver therapeutic doses to patients using Linear Accelerators and Simulator.
- Communicate patient concerns to appropriate oncology staff or physician.
- Serve as a resource for quality care and radiation safety.
- Participate in on-call rotation for radiation therapy treatment duties, chart access, blood irradiation, and other assignments.
- Utilize blocks and other treatment-related equipment accurately with proper patient verification.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
**Physical Requirements:**
- Heavy work, with ability to exert varying levels of force
- Possible exposure to radiation and frequent contact with contaminated needles and infectious substances
- Ability to work designated shift lengths, potentially including night shifts or occasional irregular hours.
