Work You'll Do

The Data Scientist will direct efforts to integrate clinical, claims, financial and related data sets to develop predictive models to enable innovative care models that improve patient outcomes and population health. The scientist will employ data science, Artificial Intelligence, deep learning, advanced machine learning and traditional statistical techniques to address clinical care problems and business needs. The Data Scientist will direct efforts and develop risk prediction and care models, to make data meaningful, accessible, and actionable while playing a key role in catalyzing novel care and health management programs. The data scientist will foster collaborations amongst other data scientists, statistics/machine learning experts, clinicians/clinical researchers, and software developers to build valuable technology solutions that are scalable both within Impact Advisors, our clients as well as more broadly.

About You

  1. Required background/experience:
  • Bachelor’s degree in math, statistics, computer science, economics, physics, or another quantitative field required and 5+ years' experience required OR MS or PhD preferred in quantitative discipline and demonstrated Data Science skill set, plus 2+ year's work experience
  • Proficiency with clustering, classification, regression, anomaly detection, simulation and optimization problems on large scale data sets
  • Proven ability to merge and transform disparate data sets together to create new features
  • Extensive experience working with R and Python data science tools to analyze and visualize health care data and to develop data pipelines to support Artificial Intelligence and machine learning model development
  • Collaborate with business partners to develop novel ways to meet objectives utilizing cutting edge techniques and tools
  • Advocate and educate on the value of data driven decision making focusing on the “how and why” of solving problems
  • Lead analytic approaches, integrating work into applications and tools with data engineers, business leads, analysts and developers
  • Create repeatable, interpretable, dynamic and scalable models that are seamlessly incorporated into analytic data products
  • Present findings and data-driven recommendations to clinical partners and leadership and at national/international conferences.
  • Share your passion for Data Science with broader enterprise community; identify and develop long-term processes, frameworks, tools, methods and standards; stay connected with external sources of ideas through conferences and community engagements
  • Collaborate, coach, and learn with a growing team of Data Scientists
  • Experience with supporting deployment, monitoring, maintenance, and enhancement of models desired
  • Experience with data visualization tools preferred — Tableau, Power BI, etc.
  • Exceptional communication and collaboration skills to understand business partner needs and deliver solutions
  • Bias for action, with ability to deliver outstanding results through task prioritization and time management
  • Demonstrated ability to efficiently learn and solve new business domains and problems
  • Number sense; healthy skepticism around validity of data and its inherent biases
  • Exemplary organizational skills with attention to detail & accuracy
