Title: Assistant Lab Manager

Schedule: Onsite, Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM

Salary: $75,000 - $100,000 (bonus potential, dependent on company performance)

Location: Bellingham, WA

Job Overview:

The Assistant Lab Manager will support laboratory operations and staff supervision. In collaboration with the Lab Manager, you will ensure the Branch Manager is informed of any issues related to laboratory testing, equipment status, and the accuracy of test data and results.

Key Responsibilities:

• Coordinate and assign tasks to lab technicians and supervisors, overseeing all analytical testing activities.
• Receive, compile, and verify data from lab tests, ensuring accurate record-keeping for all customer samples.
• Analyze and review quality control results to maintain the efficiency of processes and testing equipment.
• Provide training to laboratory analysts and act as a liaison between lab technicians, the Lab Manager, and Operations.
• Assist in preparing corrective and preventive action reports for QA/QC matters, maintaining records for review, and following up on non-conformances.
• Investigate preventive actions and implement appropriate corrective measures.
• Perform additional lab-related duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree with 3-5 years of experience in petroleum industry lab operations, or an associate degree with 5+ years of relevant experience.
• Proven managerial experience and strong interpersonal skills.
• Technical expertise and theoretical knowledge of laboratory operations.
• Ability to effectively communicate with staff, management, and external consultants.
• Comprehensive understanding of safety protocols and training requirements.
