JOB DESCRIPTION
This position manages, directs, and coordinates the Human Resource policies and programs covering several of the following: labor relations, wage and salary administration, orientation and training, safety and health, benefits, and employee services. This position also manages the recruitment, development, and retention of employees; has knowledge of EEO laws and general human resources concepts.
Essential Functions:
- Works closely with local Management to improve company processes and address employee concerns.
- Fosters an environment with open communication and fair treatment for all employees.
- Coaches, mentors, and trains Management and Department Heads to enhance leadership effectiveness.
- Vets potential candidates and assists with safety training for new employees.
- Prepares federal reporting requirements, such as Bureau of Labor Statistics census data requests and OSHA 300 logs.
- Coordinates motor vehicle accident management between insurance companies and involved individuals.
- Participates in OSHA inspections and assists in the defense of any citations received.
- Initiates reporting and management of Workers’ Compensation claims.
- Manages new employee recruitment, orientation, and training.
- Resolves employee-relations issues and manages corrective actions and performance concerns.
- Maintains records of personnel actions and facilitates exit interviews.
- Administers Health Insurance program and ensures compliance with federal regulations.
- Coordinates corporate functions with Marketing Coordinator and Management.
- Processes employee complaints and grievances in a timely manner.
- Maintains confidentiality with employee data and HR investigations.
- Prepares and updates job descriptions, employment agreements, and employee handbooks.
- Represents TORC on the RCA Human Resources committee.
- Attends and takes notes in Human Resource meetings and provides updates to Management.
Competencies:
- Deep understanding of employment law.
- PHR Certification Preferred.
- 7-10 years’ experience in an HR Manager Role.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Programs.
- Focus on details and professionalism in stressful situations.
- Teamwork oriented.
- Valid driver’s license and insurable driving record.
- High level of integrity and dependability.
Work Environment: Office environment with moderate temperature and noise levels.
Physical Demands: Position requires sitting for long periods and some climbing.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work: Full-time salaried position with specific hours.
Travel: In-town travel may be required for inspections and meetings.
Preferred Education and Experience: High School diploma or GED; college preferred. Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.
