CDR Maguire, Inc., a national multi-disciplinary engineering and emergency management consulting firm is seeking a qualified Disaster Case Manager to work directly with individuals and households affected by disasters, acting as a facilitator and advocate to empower their recovery process. This role involves assessing clients' needs, developing recovery plans, and coordinating with various agencies to ensure timely and effective assistance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for disaster-impacted individuals and families.
  • Conduct comprehensive assessments to identify unmet needs and develop personalized recovery plans.
  • Ensure clients understand and access available resources and services.
  • Advocate on behalf of clients to ensure equitable access to resources.
  • Coordinate with local agencies, long-term recovery groups (LTRGs), NGO's and other stakeholders to facilitate recovery efforts.
  • Present cases to LTRGs or unmet needs committees as necessary.
  • Maintain an up-to-date knowledge of community resources and services.
  • Network with other agencies to stay informed about available assistance programs.
  • Follow up with service providers to ensure commitments are fulfilled.
  • Maintain detailed case files, including records of home visits, referrals, and al client interactions.
  • Ensure confidentiality and secure handling of client information.
  • Report Regularly to supervisors on case progress and challenges.
  • Participate in training sessions to stay informed about disaster case management best practices and current state and federal processes.
  • Engage in continuous learning to improve skills and knowledge.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent; higher education in social work or related field preferred.
  • Must possess strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality and professionalism.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Empathy and the ability to work with individuals from diverse backgrounds.
  • Experience in case management or social services is a plus.
  • Provide I-9 supporting documentation that proves your identity and eligibility to work in the United States.
  • Must be able to pass a background check and drug screen.
  • Ability to work professionally, effectively, and efficiently in a team environment with various stakeholders.
