We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Line/Prep Cook to join our team full-time. This role is crucial in preparing and cooking meals that reflect our commitment to using local and seasonal ingredients, promoting nutrition for academic and athletic performance, and practicing sustainability in our culinary operations. We are seeking candidates with excellent communication and multi-tasking skills to play a key role in ensuring customer satisfaction.
Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Prepare and cook meals according to established recipes and standards (e.g. chopping vegetables, butchering meat, preparing sauces, and all menu items)
  • Utilize local and seasonal ingredients to create nutritious and flavorful dishes
  • Ensure food safety and sanitation standards are met at all times
  • Ensure that food comes out simultaneously, in high quality, and in a timely manner
  • Contribute to the maintenance of a sustainable kitchen environment by minimizing waste and practicing eco-friendly cooking methods
  • Set up and stocking stations with all necessary supplies
  • Answer, report and follow all operational instructions
  • Completing all tasks, in order, on the prep list from the Executive Chef or Sous Chef
  • Labeling and stocking all ingredients on easily accessible shelves
  • Washing, chopping and sorting ingredients like fruits, vegetables and meats
  • Measuring quantities of seasonings and other cooking ingredients
  • Clean up station and kitchen daily
  • Stock inventory appropriately
  • Ensure that food comes out simultaneously, in high quality and in a timely fashion
  • Maintain a positive and professional approach with coworkers and customers
Minimum Expectations & Requirements
  • Proven experience as a Line Cook in a fast-paced kitchen environment
  • Knowledge of local and seasonal ingredients and their culinary applications
  • Ability to work well in a team and communicate effectively with colleagues
  • Excellent understanding of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment and procedures
  • High school Diploma or GED or Currently Enrolled
  • Current Arizona Food Handlers Card
  • Accuracy and speed in executing assigned tasks
  • Familiar with industry's best practices
  • Ability to follow work direction and work as a part of a team
  • Ability to adapt to workplace and workload changes
  • Regular attendance is an essential job function as it demonstrates dependability towards the performance of job duties
  • Ability to communicate effectively with peers and managers in person, by phone and email
  • Ability to work in an environment which promotes teamwork and strong work ethics

  • Curb painting

Other Minimum Expectations & Requirements
  • Help with setups when needed
  • Properly vacuum carpet and dust mop and wet mop hard floors
  • Ability to keep bathrooms clean and sanitized and stocked
  • Identifies issues with buildings and equipment and requests work orders
  • Aptitude to learn new tasks quickly
  • Work after hours and weekends to cover shows at the Performing Arts Center, special events and projects
  • Ability to perform the safe operation of vehicles, equipment, and tools
  • Accuracy and attention to detail regarding work orders and timekeeping
