As VP of Data and Business Intelligence at MODE Global, you will be responsible for building and leading an enterprise data and analytics function focused on evolving the way MODE Global and our family of brands derive and use insights to drive business decisions, improved customer service, operational and financial outcomes. The VP of Data and BI is a direct report to the SVP, Chief Information Officer and will partner with senior leadership to promote a data-driven culture powered by the effective use of accurate, complete, reliable, and timely data.

The VP of Data and BI is a critical position aligned with the organization's ongoing commitment to proactively and innovatively meet challenges and leverage opportunities posed by changing market forces, and MODE Global's desire to disrupt the transportation and logistics industry.

Key Areas of Focus and Responsibility:

  • Set the vision and strategy for enterprise data and information management and governance; develop our roadmap, including related policies and controls, to ensure data is accurate, consistent, reliable, accessible, and secure.
  • Evaluate and evolve the current state of data, reporting, dashboards, quality, and analytics-related functions and leaders.
  • Accountable for maintaining and enhancing data and analytics platforms, sources, and partnerships; owns data governance, including data strategy, quality control, and integrity.
  • Lead a team of highly technical professionals to provide the best services and usability as it relates to the use of data for business operations.
  • Lead the transformation of legacy data warehouses to modern, cloud-based data architecture, leveraging platforms such as Databricks.
  • Implement and oversee the use of Databricks for large-scale data processing, analytics, and machine learning applications.
  • Develop and execute strategies for real-time data integration, processing, and analysis to support business operations and decision-making.
  • Drive the adoption of modern BI tools and practices across the organization, ensuring that data insights are accessible and actionable for all stakeholders.
  • Develop consultative and collaborative relationships with business and functional leaders to identify and scope strategic opportunities that foster value creation potential.
  • Derive operational modeling excellence by managing existing processes and implementing new processes that leverage data and analytics capabilities to create strategic and competitive advantage.
  • Collaborate with internal technology, product line leaders, independent broker operators, and business owners to ensure optimal data architecture and usability are aligned to the appropriate needs of our stakeholders. Act as the collaborator to align business and technology teams in a common vision for their data strategies and platforms.
  • Build and maintain a good business acumen within MODE Global as well as the market and act as a strong sponsor for increasing digital literacy of the organization.
  • Act as a champion and change agent in leading the organizational changes required to create and sustain enterprise-wide data-driven capabilities and culture.

  • Deep understanding of modern BI tools and practices, including data visualization, self-service analytics, and predictive modeling.
  • Experience in implementing and managing data lakes, data warehouses, and other large-scale data storage solutions.
  • Strong background in data governance, data quality management, and data security in cloud environments.
  • Familiarity with agile methodologies and DevOps practices in the context of data and BI projects.
  • Experience working successfully with senior management as well as internal and external partners.
