The Opportunity
To ensure Puig's global tax compliance and mitigate risks, our mission is to collaborate with the Corporate Tax Department at Headquarters in Barcelona. Focusing primarily on the United States (90%) and to a lesser extent Canada (10%), we will navigate complex tax landscapes, support acquisitions, mergers, and restructurings, and interface with local tax advisors, internal teams, and regulatory bodies such as the IRS. We work in close coordination with the Corporate Tax Team and Shared Service Team in Barcelona, and Finance departments across Puig's US units, safeguarding our tax strategies and contributing to Puig's sustainable growth and success.
What you'll get to do
  • Manage Federal and State Income Tax matters, Tax Provision, Sales & Use Tax, and International Taxes to ensure compliance and optimize tax strategies.
  • Oversee audits, manage tax claims, and handle litigations effectively, ensuring Puig's interests are protected and risks are mitigated.
  • Coordinate Transfer Pricing activities for the Local File, working closely with the centralized team in Barcelona to maintain consistency and compliance.
  • Support M&A transactions, restructurings, and the implementation of new tax developments, contributing to Puig's strategic growth and tax efficiency initiatives.
We'd love to meet you if you have
  • 5-8 years of experience in either an in-house Company Tax Department or a Big4/similar firm
  • Expertise in Federal Income Tax matters preferred; other tax experience will also be considered.
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Business; CPA certification is highly valued.
  • Spanish speaker is a plus.
  • We value candidates with Curiosity, Team player mentality, Proactivity, and strong Communication skills.
  • Strong knowledge of tax principles, Microsoft Office proficiency, and familiarity with SAP/ERP systems are essential; experience with SAP/ERP is a plus.
  • Ability to travel (5-10%) to Headquarters in Spain for sessions with the Corporate Tax Team and Shared Services Team.
