Job Description:

Project Engineer directs the activities of a technical team to meet site goals and objectives. Provides technical guidance and leadership for assigned projects within the engineering organization. Develops and conducts work in accordance with company's policies, priorities, and budget constraints. Manages and provides status of engineering projects and budgets; manages schedules and prepares status reports. Assesses engineering project issues and develops resolutions to meet productivity, quality, and customer satisfaction goals and objectives. Provides technical oversight and assistance to other departments as required.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for engineering project and people management including the technical assessment of all assigned projects. Will successfully lead the program technical team to deliver key programs or projects per associated quality, time and cost constraints
  • Responsible for leading technical team with regard to program related Root Cause and Corrective Action / Non-conformance Disposition (MRB)
  • Drives functional excellence initiatives, high quality functional deliverables, and ensures technical excellence for product or technical development
  • Provide direction and guides the team in complex or difficult situations, removes obstacles, assigns appropriate resources and interfaces with other functions to assist with issue resolution
  • Assists in determining appropriate staff levels, schedules and resources
  • Responsible for the implementation, enforcement and compliance of all relevant quality, regulatory and safety standards
  • Assist in managing resources to support program schedules, balancing needs, priorities and cost
  • Proven experience in lean manufacturing and mentoring/coaching others in rapid problem solving and improvement
  • Establish priorities imparting a sense of urgency and importance to effectively deliver products per quality, cost and time constraints
  • Ensures that projects are completed on schedule and within budget. Drive accountability to timelines and metrics throughout the organization
  • Frequent coordination with internal personnel at various management levels concerning operations, scheduling or specific phases of projects or programs
  • Conducts briefings and leads technical meetings for internal and external representatives concerning specific operations or projects
  • Frequently is involved simultaneously in several programs or projects. Ensures product and customer service quality. Resolves issues and/or team conflicts
  • Meets with program managers, support staff, vendors, and customers to solicit cooperation and resolve problems
  • Conducts briefings to engineering leadership and program management

Shift Day Shift Information Monday - Friday 7am-330pm Experience/Education/Skills
  • BS degree in engineering, science or a related field
  • 1-5 years of technical program-related experience in a government contracting environment
  • 5-8 years experience as a Manufacturing Engineer or related field desired
  • Root Cause and Corrective Action / Non-conformance Disposition (MRB)
  • Composite production and assembly environment (composite lay up, cure, paint, NDI, and final assembly)
  • New Product Development / New Business Development
  • Aerospace manufacturing a plus
  • Experience in CATIA V5, GD&T, WindChill PDM, and SAP a plus
  • Experience in proposal writing, and proposal estimating a plus
