JOB DESCRIPTION:

As a Planner, you will play a crucial role in coordinating and expediting the flow of assemblies and finished goods between departments based on production and shipping schedules. You will work closely with the Material Manager to adapt to changes in production and MPS updates. Reports to Materials Manager.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Issue production work schedules by department and monitor weekly completion targets.
  2. Arrange transfer of materials to align with production schedules.
  3. Maintain accurate records, including WIP status and location reports.
  4. Collaborate with the Material Manager to adjust production schedules as needed.
  5. Work with purchasing to address material issues affecting production.

SPECIFIC DUTIES:

  1. Conversion of Sales Orders to Work Orders.
  2. Creation of work batches and work orders as needed to fulfill BOM requirements.
  3. Release work schedules for various departments, prioritizing tasks according to the MPS.
  4. Track departmental performance and resolve scheduling conflicts.
  5. Coordinate with Material Manager to adjust workload and/or capacity.
  6. Monitor and discuss material and labor standards with the Material Manager.
  7. Closing of top and sub-assemblies work orders.
  8. Review of WIP reports for accuracy.
  9. Reschedule work orders to meet changes on delivery dates.
  10. Address material shortages with the purchasing team.
  11. Generate cycle count reports for analysis.

REQUIREMENTS:

  1. Associate’s degree, and 1-year related experience or 3-5 years in manufacturing or materials management.
  2. Proficiency in MRP systems and manufacturing processes.
  3. Strong knowledge of MS Office applications.
  4. Familiarity with electro-mechanical assembly processes.
  5. Excellent planning, organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  6. Experience in a fast-paced MRP environment.
