Manager, Creative Services
HIDA is looking for an experienced marketing professional to oversee the creation and design of promotional materials, digital advertisements, and printed collateral for both HIDA and the HIDA Educational Foundation. This role involves developing and maintaining brand guidelines, managing design projects, and collaborating with internal teams and product managers. Strong communication and relationship-building skills are essential. This position reports to the Director of Marketing and is crucial in bringing creative ideas to life while maintaining a consistent brand presence for both organizations.
The Health Industry Distributors Association (HIDA) is the trade association serving medical products distributors and their trading partners. HIDA members deliver essential medical products such as Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) to the nation’s hospitals, nursing homes, laboratories, home care, and physician practices. HIDA is a leading voice on matters important to the healthcare distribution industry as well as the healthcare supply chain as a whole.
HIDA offices are located in Old Town Alexandria, Virginia and operate on a flexible 3 days in-office, 2 days remote schedule.
Essential Responsibilities:
Design/Production:
• Design ads, brochures, digital ad units, and other collateral as required to achieve HIDA’s goals and objectives.
• Manage production schedules from design and printing perspective for projects and ensures their timely completion.
• Coordinate the proofing process for some projects with other staff departments.
• Perform electronic pre-press prep work for all projects.
• Develop and maintain corporate guidelines for use of HIDA logo and implementation of consistent image for all product lines.
• Maintain organized archive of all design projects.
• Provide design for banner advertising and website needs.
• Provide art for onsite needs at events; name badges, signage, app graphics, conference materials, PPT slides, and tent cards.
• Supervise the work of freelance designers and photographers. Responsible for obtaining bids from outside resources as needed and coordinating with them to ensure timely delivery and quality control throughout production.
• Collects responses and makes recommendations to the Director of Marketing on vendor selection.
• Serve as liaison with vendors and software partners as necessary.
Minimum Qualifications
To perform this job successfully, an individual should possess the knowledge, skills, and abilities listed and meet the amount of education, training and/or work experience required.
Education/Experience
1. Bachelor’s degree in graphic design, communications or related field.
2. 7-10 years of related experience .
3. Experience and knowledge of trade associations is desired.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
1. Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
2. Skills in graphic design and concepts as well as technical skills including but not limited to: InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, Flash, Microsoft Office Suite.
3. Ability to work in teams and visually articulate complex ideas.
4. Expertise in digital photography and videography.
5. Web design/wireframe experience desired
