Summary
Chitina Native Corporation (CNC), an Alaska Native Corporation, is currently recruiting for a Controller for their corporate office in Anchorage. CNC offers competitive wages, a benefits package, and room for growth.
The controller position covers a broad spectrum of duties, disciplines, and responsibilities that require a combination of management skills, education, and experience. The position includes all areas of finance and accounting including billing, A/P, P/R, inventory control, finance, budgeting, excise tax reporting, cash management, and audit management.
Essential Functions
- Oversee the activities of the corporate accounting department for the accurate and timely dissemination of financial management reports including, but not limited to, internal and external monthly financial statements, annual audit and annual budgets.
- Oversee the activities of the disbursement activities, ensuring the accurate and timely processing of accounts payable, purchase orders, petty cash, core employee expense reports, cash control, benefits administration, core payroll processing and total corporate payroll tax compliance.
- Monitor Financial Statements, develop and implement corporate policies, analyze corporate investments.
- Assure corporate income tax compliance to ensure the accurate and timely completion of all corporate income tax returns, taking full advantage of all favorable tax codes.
- Establish and maintain systems and controls that verify the integrity of all systems, processes and data, and enhance the company's value.
- Respond to CEO as assigned with accurate and timely work to facilitate financial needs.
- Participate in a wide variety of special projects and compile a variety of special reports.
Education/Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Business or related field required, or a combination of education and work experience will be considered.
- U.S. citizen.
- Experience working in the government contracting industry is highly desirable.
- 10 years or more experience in managing an accounting function in a medium- or large-size company. Previous Alaska Native Corporation or 8(A) experience.
- CPA is preferred.
Physical Demands
Frequent sitting, using hands/fingers, handling, reaching with hands and arms, talking, hearing and seeing up close, at a distance, along the periphery, with depth perception and the ability to adjust focus; occasional walking or standing, occasional lifting of up to 10 lbs.
