POSITION PURPOSE AND SUMMARY
(3) positions must reside in Minnesota, Florida or South Carolina
Acts in the position of District Manager on an interim basis. Directs the General Managers of multiple properties to achieve optimum financial performance and continual improvement in the Key Performance Indicators including, but not limited to profitability, reputation management and guest/employee satisfaction while ensuring compliance to company policies and procedures. Performs special tasks or specific projects within interim district as assigned by DVP. Should be a Subject Matter Expert in Operations' databases - Ex: Medallia, ADP, Procurement, ESU, etc.
MAJOR / KEY JOB DUTIES
- Provides thorough management coverage for assigned district in the absence of the District Manager.
- Demonstrates and promotes a 100% commitment to providing the best possible experience for our guests and employees.
- Coaches and supports property management and associates on the customer-centric service culture of ESA.
- Takes the lead in monitoring Guest Service results for the district and provides coaching to team as needed to improve NPS and Social scores.
- Resolves escalated guest service issues while actively addressing underlying root cause(s).
- Responsible for maximizing revenues and flow through to EBITDA.
- Expected to manage district to defined labor standards and property level expenses to achieve maximum cash flow & bottom-line profit.
- Coordinates and implements sales and marketing activities for the assigned district.
- Ongoing management of people resources to include recruiting, mentoring, training, coaching/counseling, development, performance improvement plans, annual reviews/merit, performance evaluations, disciplinary documentation and conducts terminations with guidance from HR department.
- Assists each General Manager to promote retention programs, turnover reduction strategies while working to maintain high morale and a professional work environment. Leads by example and exemplifies accessibility.
- Explains and manages financial activities. Reconciles all financial accounts.
- Conducts site visits/audits for assigned district and inspects for compliance in the following areas: safety, health, security, risk prevention, loss prevention, room inspections, curb appeal and overall brand standards.
- Communicates directly with Regional Director of Operations, Senior Vice President, and/or appropriate corporate department on all issues having long-term or sustained exposure at the property.
- Explores specific areas of concern as directed by Division VP, Regional Directors of Operations, Group VP of Operations, or other HSC departments.
- Responsible for timely completion of all assignments and projects requested by Division VP, Regional Directors of Operations, Group VP of Operations, or other HSC departments.
- Communicates and consults with appropriate HSC support departments as necessary.
- Adheres to federal, state and local laws.
- 85 - 90% travel will be required.
- All other duties as needed or required.
OTHER DUTIES
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Manages district staff including GM/MUGM and 10 - 15-line level associates per site. Has interim responsibility for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of assigned district.
Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, reporting, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
Requirements:KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES & COMPETENCIES
ORGANIZATION AND TIME MANAGEMENT SKILLS:
Ability to organize multiple projects; manage and prioritize multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
COMPUTER SKILLS
Basic knowledge of computers and software including ability to use e-mail, word processing, spreadsheet software, and property management system.
TRAVEL DEMANDS:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to travel by air and by automobile and be away from home for periods of several weeks. Must be able to drive automobile and fly in commercial air flights.
LANGUAGE SKILLS:
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one on one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization. Conversational Spanish would be beneficial.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
REASONING ABILITY:
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

ENVIRONMENTAL JOB REQUIREMENTS
While performing the duties of this job, the employee frequently works in outside weather conditions and is frequently exposed to wet and/or humid conditions. The employee occasionally works near moving mechanical parts and is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles and toxic or caustic chemicals.
The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- 4-year degree preferred.
- Minimum of one year of property level, General Manager, Hotel Manager, Task Force Manager experience.
- Must also possess strong working knowledge of ESA systems and policies and understanding of ESA financial reporting procedures.
- Must be in good standing and if a current ESA manager, ranking high on the ESA Ranking Report is a plus
