About the Role:

Shipcom Wireless is looking for a Software Development Manager to lead the Product Development team. You will coach and lead a team of Software Development Engineers to build highly scalable, multi-tenant services for the next generation of the Catamaran platform.

  • Discover the true requirements underlying feature requests, recommend alternative technical and business approaches, and lead engineering efforts to meet aggressive timelines with optimal solutions.

Expected Skills/Qualifications:

  • 7+ years of experience working directly within engineering teams.
  • 3+ years of people management experience, managing engineers.
  • 3+ years of experience architecting and designing (architecture, design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and current systems.
  • 3+ years of experience designing and developing solutions in distributed systems environments.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related technical discipline. Master's degree preferred.
  • Knowledge of professional software engineering best practices for the full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations.
  • Experience with building web and mobile solutions.
  • Hands-on expertise with building and operating back-end services.
  • Experience partnering with product or program management teams.
  • Exceptional customer relationship skills, written and verbal communication skills.
  • Being passionate about what you do and a get-things-done attitude to make your product and team successful.
