Salary RangeUSD $22.00/Hr. -OverviewJob in a Nutshell:The DC Grocery Material Handler position is responsible for performing all functions of the Grocery department at the Natural Grocers Distribution Center. This includes use of SAP for order processing, order pulling, shipping, receiving, cycle counting and new product storage setup. This position works under minimal supervision, and maintains daily communication with all departments.Applications are accepted by the date below, which may be updated if the hiring timeline is extended.10/24/2024ResponsibilitiesMain Ingredients :Uses SAP to process purchase orders from stores according to daily schedulePick daily orders and prepare for shipping, including special order plus-outsPerform weekly cycle counts of grocery inventoryVerify product rotation as needed for FIFOPrioritize and process purchase orders for all new store openingsSchedule inbound containers and truckloads for groceryCheck PO’s for accuracy of inbound loads; report any discrepancies to purchasing dept.Receive product and perform applicable food safety checks required for receivingDetermine storage locations for inbound container loads to maximize storage spaceAssist shipping with stacking, wrapping, and labeling pallets for the outbound ordersMaintain good housekeeping in the grocery department and surrounding areasAssist with bulk order pulling when backup is neededProvide clear and professional communication with stores, managers, coworkers and vendors at all times regarding duties, priorities and needs in the distribution centerMust adhere to all company policies and proceduresMay be assigned to other warehouse duties as neededAlthough this is a general outline of job responsibilities all employees are expected to be “hands on” and do whatever it takes to get the job done and make the company thrive.QualificationsRecipe for Success:High school diploma or equivalent is requiredMust have current Colorado Driver’s License and reliable transportationMinimum 3 years of experience in warehousing, including order picking, shipping, and receiving requiredPrevious forklift experience required; must be certified by NGVC on sit down and stand-up reach trucks, and rider pallet jackGood attention to detail required; accuracy and thoroughness is a mustExcellent organizational skills requiredAbility to work under minimal supervisionFlexibility with working hours to accommodate warehouse needsAble to work in seasonally warm or cool environmentAble to assist in other departments as neededPrevious experience with inventory required.
