Position Summary:

The Director of Building Automation leads and manages the Building Automation Systems (BAS) department to ensure optimal performance, energy efficiency, and sustainability across the company's building portfolio. This role involves strategic planning, system design, implementation, and maintenance of automated controls. The Director will also drive the integration of new technologies and data analytics to enhance building operations and occupant comfort.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Leadership & Management:
    Lead and mentor a team of BAS engineers and technicians. Develop and execute strategic plans for automation projects in line with company goals. Manage budgets, resources, and project timelines.

  • System Design & Integration:
    Oversee the design and integration of BAS for new constructions, retrofits, and renovations. Ensure seamless integration of HVAC, lighting, and security systems. Select and evaluate vendors and technologies.

  • Performance Monitoring & Optimization:
    Implement strategies for continuous system monitoring and optimization. Analyze data to identify inefficiencies and collaborate with the Energy Management team to achieve energy efficiency goals.

  • Technology & Innovation:
    Stay updated on industry trends and drive innovation by incorporating IoT, AI, and data analytics into BAS. Lead initiatives to enhance occupant comfort and safety.

  • Compliance & Standards:
    Ensure compliance with codes, regulations, and industry standards. Maintain documentation and standard operating procedures for BAS operations.

  • Stakeholder Collaboration:
    Collaborate with facilities management, IT, energy management, and other stakeholders to align automation strategies with organizational goals. Communicate with senior management on system performance and projects.

Qualifications:

  • Education:
    Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field. Master's degree preferred.

  • Experience:
    10+ years in building automation, including 5 years in a leadership role. Proven experience managing large-scale BAS projects and teams.

  • Skills:
    Strong knowledge of HVAC, electrical systems, and controls engineering. Proficiency in BAS software, data analytics tools, and IoT technologies. Excellent project management, leadership, and communication skills.
