A prominent Canadian Shipping company is recruiting for 2nd Class Marine Engineers for its cargo vessels. This work requires engine room experience, sea time, and marine certifications that can be assessed and recognized by Transport Canada. In all cases the issuing country will have to verify document authenticity.

Canada now recognizes credentials issued from the UK, Ireland , Panama, The Phillipines, Jamaica, France and Ukraine to name a few. Nationals of these countries will be prioritized for immediate hire. Candidates are currently eligible for Canadian permanent residency if desired.   

Sea rotations are one month on one month off, at Canada's prevailing wage for Halifax and consists of $42.00 per hour or $ 65,000 USD.

Responsibilities: 

- Engine Equipment and Maintenance: Oversee the maintenance of engines and power systems supporting auxiliary equipment for optimal ship performance.  

- Engine Room Watch: Maintain watch of engine room in accordance with Transport Canada, and other international best practises. 

- Manage vessel bunkering or fueling of ships, in various global ports. 

- System Operations and Climate control: Operate and maintain refrigeration, ventilation, and air conditioning systems to ensure comfort and functionality. 

- Preventative Maintenance Monitoring: Monitor and Execute tasks and system checks on all equipment and power system for the vessel. 

-Safety Management Implementation: Ensure adherence to the safety management systems and marine navigation protocols, 

- Engine Parameter Monitoring: Monitor various gauges such as pressure and temperature and report any irregularities. 

- Regulatory Compliance: Operate all engine systems and connected equipment according to manufacturer recommendations. 

- Monitor fluids for engines and hydraulic systems.  

Looking for candidates that speak English or French and have 3-5 years of experience as a marine engineer. Candidate must be organized, diligent, and responsible. We are looking for individuals that are problem solvers and can completely handle any issue that may arise at sea.
