Avery Products Corporation is looking for a R&D Lab Technician to join our Research & Development team. You will prepare test samples and materials, measure performance, and record and analyze data. This role is an essential part of the team to ensure accurate and timely testing and will focus on evaluating the physical properties of various products.


Primary Responsibilities:

  • Perform activities in support of various lab operations with minimal supervision.
  • Must be familiar with analytical equipment and solvents.
  • Primary activities involve focus on evaluating the physical properties of print quality of various products; including quality of construction and performance.
  • Self-motivated team player who enjoys working with others.
  • Problem solver with a "can do" attitude who can overcome obstacles in order to get the work done in an efficient and accurate manner.
  • Must pay attention to detail, follow written and verbal procedures and protocols.
  • Experience in preparing reports summarizing data, technical findings and making recommendations.
  • Work in a cross-functional team environment with Product Development, Product Technology, Supply Chain, Quality and Marketing to deliver against set project deliverables and timelines.
  • Work with print trade associations (e.g. IDC, PIA, and Photizo) to identify trends, upcoming product launches.
  • Visiting tradeshows and Printer OEMs
  • Quarterly Printer OEM Trends Report
  • Mine Industry portals to get trends on latest print technologies that need to be tested.


Minimum Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 2 years' experience in a similar position.
  • Undergraduate degree preferred.
  • Good oral and written communication skills.
  • Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office including Word, Excel and Outlook.
  • A self-motivated, detail oriented individual who is comfortable providing feedback and observation of test results to team members.
  • Ability to manage multiples activities and prioritize simultaneously.
  • Works well in and enjoys team environment.
