Throughout its 15+ years of operation, it has never experienced a primary power outage.

Position: Electrical Engineer

Responsibilities:

  • Design and Development :

    • Design and plan electrical systems, including power distribution, backup power, and safety systems, to meet the data center's requirements.
    • Collaborate with architects and other engineers to integrate electrical systems into the overall infrastructure.
  • Power Systems Management :

    • Oversee the operation and maintenance of power systems, including Uninterruptible Power Supplies (UPS), generators, and switchgear.
    • Ensure redundancy and reliability to prevent downtime.
  • Preventive Maintenance :

    • Implement and manage routine inspections, testing, and preventive maintenance of electrical equipment to minimize risks of failure.
    • Coordinate with vendors and contractors to service and repair equipment.
  • Energy Efficiency :

    • Monitor and optimize energy consumption to improve the efficiency and sustainability of the data center's operations.
    • Implement energy-saving technologies and practices, such as power monitoring systems, efficient cooling solutions, and advanced lighting systems.
  • Compliance and Safety :

    • Ensure that all electrical systems comply with local codes, standards, and regulations, including safety and environmental requirements.
    • Develop and maintain safety protocols and emergency procedures for electrical systems.
  • Capacity Planning :

    • Analyze and plan for future electrical capacity needs based on the growth of data center operations and increased demand for power.
    • Manage load distribution and ensure that power infrastructure can support expansion.
  • Risk Management and Disaster Recovery :

    • Develop strategies to mitigate electrical risks, including electrical faults, power outages, and equipment failures.
    • Design and implement robust backup systems and disaster recovery plans to maintain continuous operations during power interruptions.
