JOB DESCRIPTION

The Senior Vice President, Development will be responsible for leading and executing the creative strategy for FOX Entertainment Studios. Reporting into the Executive Vice President, Scripted – FOX Entertainment Studios, the Senior Vice President, Development will supervise the development of new scripted content, from concept to execution. They will also oversee the creative activities related to the tracking, soliciting, procurement, evaluation, development, and oversight of the Studio shows. The Senior Vice President, Development will not only ensure that the FOX network has a pipeline of content that is additive and impactful with talent that resonates, but will also bring Talent, IP, and Buyer relationships that will grow our 3rd party business.

A SNAPSHOT OF YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Create/develop quality series for the FOX network and 3rd party buyers
  • Aggressively source and evaluate Talent, IP, pitches, and scripts for potential development
  • Build the seasonal development slate strategically to optimize creative assets across all platforms
  • Find synergies across the Studio to maximize the value of in-house IP and Talent – Unscripted, News UK, Animation, etc.
  • Ensure all departments are working cohesively to make the FOX Entertainment Programming successful
  • Work collaboratively and partner with other senior level executives across FOX Entertainment
  • Oversee/manage development spend/budget for Studio
  • Take general meetings for future development and staffing
  • Create writer and director lists; read and evaluate script submissions
  • Engage with and staff high-quality showrunners, writers, and directors who are appropriate for FOX Entertainment
  • Analyze and contribute thoughts to projects in development/consideration
  • Meet with creative talent for potential development opportunities
  • Manage Development team; provide leadership and inspire/motivate the team for the most creative outputs

WHAT YOU WILL NEED

  • 15+ years of experience at agency, studio, or network preferably in both TV and theatrical
  • BA/BS
  • Established relationships with showrunners, writers, agents, talent, and the creative community in general
  • Deep understanding of the scripted development and production processes
  • Excellent communication and negotiating skills
  • Self-starter, collaborative, transparent, and flexible to change
  • Demonstrated people management experience, providing mentorship and development to team(s)

Pursuant to state and local pay disclosure requirements, the pay range for this role, with final offer amount dependent on education, skills, experience, and location is: $250,000.00-300,000.00 annually for California. This role is also eligible for an annual discretionary bonus, various benefits, including medical/dental/vision, insurance, a 401(k) plan, paid time off, and other benefits in accordance with applicable plan documents. Benefits for Union represented employees will be in accordance with the applicable collective bargaining agreement.
