Our client is seeking to fill the position of Freight & Dispatch Specialist. This full-time, on-site position will require you to provide excellent customer service, IB & OB dispatching, account management, planning of drayage and freight brokerage. You will work closely with our clients and carriers to ensure smooth and efficient transportation of goods.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Coordinate Shipments: Manage and oversee the transportation of goods from suppliers to customers, including scheduling, routing, and tracking shipments.
- Customer Service: Provide excellent customer service by addressing inquiries and resolving issues to ensure customer satisfaction.
- Supplier and Carrier Management: Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers and transportation providers to ensure reliable and cost-effective service.
- Documentation and Compliance: Prepare and review shipping documents, including bills of lading, invoices, and customs paperwork. Ensure compliance with local, national, and international regulations.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or Business Administration and/or 3 years of relevant work experience.
- Minimum 2-3 years of experience in freight planning or a related role. Prior experience at a TL or LTL carrier is a plus.
- Strong organizational and a high level of accuracy.
- Effective communication skills, including writing, speaking, and interpersonal skills.
- Critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
- Knowledge of transportation regulations.
- Scheduling freight movement experience.
- Demonstrates a professional and ethical demeanor.
- Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment.
- Good collaboration and team working abilities.
- Ability to take direction well and great follow-through.
- Bilingual (Spanish) is a plus.
