Our client in Natrona Heights, PA is looking for an experienced Precision Surface Grinder to add to their team.
Job Description:
- Responsible to grind/manufacture any job to expected quality specifications with little or no supervision
- Studies specifications such as blueprints, sketches, models, or descriptions, and visualizes product to determine materials required and fixturing used to fabricate parts
- Independently selects proper abrasives used to manufacture various steels, powdered metals, and carbide
- Computing dimensions, plans layout, and determines grinding method and sequence of operations without supervision
- Measures, marks, and scribes metal stock for grinding, as needed with no supervision
- Sets up and operates machine tools such as precision surface grinders to machine parts, and verifies conformance of machined parts to specifications
- Required to setup and program CNC surface grinders
Job Requirements
Job requirements:
- Minimum 5 years of experience as a precision grinder or equivalent
- Journeyperson Certificate and/or similar work certification
- Must be able to set up and use dial indicators, calipers, micrometers, sin bars, planers gage independently
- Has the ability to consistently hold tolerances of .0001' and .00002'
- Basic computer skills and understanding of applying technology within work environment
