KEM Power is seeking skilled and motivated Field Technicians to join our growing team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for performing a variety of tasks including installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of renewable energy systems. This position requires physical stamina, outdoor work, and a commitment to safety and quality.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Install, troubleshoot, and maintain renewable energy systems, including inverters, battery energy storage systems (BESS), and transformers.
  • Perform pre-commissioning, cold commissioning, and hot commissioning tasks as required.
  • Conduct routine inspections and tests on equipment to ensure proper functionality.
  • Lift and carry heavy loads (50+ lbs) as part of daily tasks.
  • Work in outdoor environments in various weather conditions.
  • Read and interpret technical manuals, diagrams, and schematics or willing to learn.
  • Ensure all work is performed safely and adheres to KEM’s HSE policies and OSHA standards.
  • Travel to different job sites, often outside of the Houston area.

Compensation & Benefits:

  • Starting pay: $20/hour, with an increase to $25/hour after a 4-month probation period. Mid-level techs are paid $27.50/hour and Senior Techs after 1-2 years are at $31.25/hour.
  • $50 per day meal per diem when working outside of Houston.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Ability to lift and carry heavy loads (50+ lbs).
  • Willingness to work outdoors in varying conditions.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Willingness to travel for projects, particularly outside the Houston area.
  • OSHA10 and NFPA70E certifications are a plus (KEM will provide certifications if not currently held).
  • Experience in the renewable energy sector or related industries is a plus.
