Job Description:
As the SAP S/4 Data Migration Lead, you will be responsible for Functional Consulting assistance for the data migration process from SAP ECC to S/4HANA for R2R – Record to Report Tribe.
You will play a critical role in data migration activities for R2R tribe and cross modular data integration expertise with O2C and F2S.
Along with the alignment of the workstream, the resource should be able to have holistic approach to Data migration in collaboration
Key Responsibilities:
- Understand and execute comprehensive data migration strategy and plan for the SAP S/4HANA implementation using the Global Data Migration Playbook as your foundation.
- Ability to work with other Data migration experts and validate workplans weekly to ensure they are managing activities and deliverables with discipline.
- Collaborate with business stakeholders, IT teams, Global Data Team, Application PMs and external partners to gather data migration requirements and define data mapping rules.
- Design data migration scripts, programs, and tools to extract, transform, and load data from legacy systems into SAP S/4HANA and Applications.
- Perform and organize activities related to data profiling, cleansing, and validation to ensure data quality and integrity throughout the migration process. Establish rules of engagement for data activities including the necessary governance processes.
- Monitor data migration progress, with established KPI reporting, identify issues or bottlenecks and communicate/document observations, recommendations, owners, and timing, and implement corrective actions to stay on schedule and within budget.
- Conduct data migration testing and validation to verify the accuracy and completeness of migrated data in partnership with the Global Team and the local Business Owners.
- Make recommendations to the Global data migration s and related tools and processes, including procedures, guidelines, and best practices for future reference.
- Work closely with the Cutover Lead to ensure tasks and activities are documented and executed to ensure smooth migration of data.
- Support testing phases with engagement during defect management to resolve data defects at the root cause. Also engage with hypercare activities to resolve data issues.
Requirements:
1. Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field. Master’s degree is a plus.
2. Proven experience (10+ years) in leading data migration projects, preferably in SAP environments.
3. In-depth knowledge of SAP data migration tools, methodologies, and best practices.
4. Strong understanding of SAP S/4HANA data structures, data objects, and data migration processes.
5. Hands down experience with extracting data from SAP ECC & also S/4 Hana using SAP tools such as SQVI, SQL query and SE15H as appropriate.
6. Intimate knowledge of Record to Report data objects and their impacts during data migration life cycle.
7. Someone worked previously in the role of SAP FICO consultant might be an added advantage.
8. Strong proficiency in SAP ECC/S4 Hana, Power BI, and knowledge of ETL methodology.
9. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, must be fluent in English.
10. Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet project deadlines.
11. Must be able to travel to client location at least 3 full days a week and more depending on phase of the project.
