Epson, a $10B global leader in high-quality consumer electronics, imaging, and point of sale printing devices, is seeking an exceptional Senior Product Planner to join our Sales Operations Department.
This position will be based out of Epson America's headquarters located in Los Alamitos, CA with the opportunity for a hybrid work schedule.
The Senior Product Planner will be contributing to the overall achievement of inventory targets by creating specific analysis related to sales trends, customer purchase behavior, and production capacity.
You will also be responsible for processing and analyzing product forecasts, procurement, and inventory control to ensure the adequacy of inventory levels, as well as, providing product availability information to sales and marketing through different inventory reports and ensuring that inventory targets are met monthly according to plan.
What you will be doing:
Inventory Management
- Creates and submits to SEC product forecasts for assigned product line(s)
- Analyzes sales forecast and prepares reports to ensure accuracy and alignment to the financial forecast and goals
- Ensures adequate inventory to meet sales forecasts and days of supply objectives.
- Maintains/develops inventory and procurement and allocation reports for assigned product line(s)
- Collaborates with North American & Latin America Marketing to ensure product lifecycle impacts are clearly communicated to the Latin America subsidiaries operations and Latin America sales
- Procures products and allocates to ensure adequate inventory to meet sales forecasts and planned DOS monthly
- Reviews forecast variances versus actual and financial sales forecasts and makes recommendations as necessary
- Provides ETAs and product availability to the North America Sales Team and Latin America subsidiaries and customers
- Reviews inventory for obsolescence and scrap. Facilitates the inventory reviews with both the North American and Latin American subsidiaries and Marketing
- Ensures that new products are set up in the system in a timely manner and correctly (e.g. SKU, description, weights). Also ensures the Material Master is maintained accurately in the system
- Provides vendors with timely orders adjustment requests based on current market conditions.
- Creates and prepares inventory key data point reports.
Logistics Management
- Assign allocations of products for both North American and Latin American sales, and track shipments from factories to Latin America subsidiaries and EAI warehouses
- Participates in monthly meetings with the different vendors to agree on shipments dates or product availability information.
- Discusses production capacity of vendors to determine product availability.
- Provides Import/Export the appropriate product description to ensure customs compliance.
- Monitors lead time of shipments to ensure that DOS are met.
- Provides recommendations regarding specific methods of product shipment
What you will bring:
- Completion of an undergraduate program or equivalent experience (B.A. or B.S).
- Requires experience with inventory planning
- APICS knowledge is a plus
- SAP experience
- Must be highly proficient in MS Excel
- Strong database management and reporting skills are a must
- Detail-oriented, organized and excellent communication skills
