JOB DESCRIPTION
Reporting to the Software Development Manager, this role supports the analysis, development, modification, testing, and maintenance of lab automation software. It involves supporting business leadership and senior development professionals in analyzing software and hardware system needs, options, risks, costs, and impact on business processes and goals. The role also evaluates supplied software features and applications against customer requests and independently analyzes and isolates application issues for problem resolution.
- Partners with internal stakeholders to understand business needs and handles the preparation of specifications, designing, wireframing, coding, testing, debugging, and documenting.
- Resolves problems by devising or modifying procedures, considering test equipment capacity and limitations, operating time, and desired results.
- Monitors progress of software-based projects by tracking activity, resolving problems, publishing progress reports, and recommending actions.
- Improves systems performance by investigating problems, developing specifications, identifying trends in technology, and recommending solutions.
- Assists with formulating and defining specifications for software programming applications and modifies existing applications.
QUALIFICATIONS
- University degree in Computer Science and 4+ years of direct related experience.
- JavaScript, HTML, and CSS required.
- MERN (Mongo, Express, React, Node) with emphasis on ReactJS framework.
- Wireframing/UI/UX experience with building UI components based on UX Designs, ideally using Figma.
- Self-motivated engineer that can lead discussions with internal/external stakeholders.
- Strong communicator with experience working with cross-functional groups.
- Typescript language experience is a nice to have.
