Position Summary
The Lead Director of Vulnerability Remediation and Reporting is a critical role in protecting the organization’s assets and reputation by ensuring that identified security vulnerabilities are effectively addressed in a timely manner. This forward-thinking, innovative, and passionate risk reduction leader will have a strong understanding of cybersecurity, risk management, and compliance, as well as the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive remediation efforts. The Lead Director will manage a team, continuously set the standard high to guide data-driven remediation prioritization and report on risk reduction to Executive leadership.

Responsibilities

  1. Provide strategic and operational Vulnerability Remediation and Reporting leadership including generating roadmaps, drive operational excellence, optimize operating costs, provide enhanced risk visibility with Executive-level reporting and coordination of all program related activities.
  2. Establish frameworks to ensure consistent and effective vulnerability remediation practices.
  3. Define OKR’s, KRI’s and deliver reports on vulnerability management metrics and compliance to senior leadership and stakeholders.
  4. Work closely with governance, risk and compliance teams to assess the impact of identified vulnerabilities on the organization’s risk profile.
  5. Implement contextual risk remediation prioritization based on several key risk factors including regulatory compliance requirements, environmental risk information and risk severity.
  6. Collaborate with key stakeholders to understand risk drivers, vulnerability remediation blockers and ensure that the vulnerabilities are assigned to correct remediation stakeholders.
  7. Partner with IT, security, and business teams to ensure that vulnerability remediation efforts align with business objectives and operational requirements.
  8. Facilitate communication between technical and non-technical stakeholders to ensure understanding and alignment on remediation priorities.
  9. Establish and maintain communication with the organization’s executives, department heads, and end users regarding pertinent vulnerabilities and risks.
  10. Lead for vulnerability remediation audit mandates, policies, control standards, and requirements.
  11. Lead, mentor, and develop a team of security professionals focused on vulnerability management and remediation.
  12. Experience with regulatory frameworks and standards including (NIST, SOX, PCI-DSS) and internal standards to support compliance, security, and risk management objectives.
  13. Regularly benchmark against published standards and best practices for technology systems and cybersecurity practices.
  14. Create colleague self-service dashboards, prepare and deliver executive-level reports, and present risk information to leadership.

Required Qualifications

  • 10+ years of professional experience executing vulnerability management specifically in vulnerability remediation, vulnerability risk assignment, risk reporting.
  • 10+ years of leadership experience developing and leading a workforce of Cybersecurity experts.
  • Deep understanding of security controls and alignment to regulatory compliance (examples: NIST, ISO, HITRUST, HIPAA, PCI).
  • Technical understanding of vulnerability scanning, patching and penetration testing technologies and processes.
  • Working knowledge of risk data analysis, dashboards and visualization, and executive risk reporting.

  • Ability to ensure the effective achievement team objectives by managing staff and product providers.

Education
Bachelor degree from accredited university or equivalent work experience (HS diploma + 4 years relevant experience).

Pay Range
The typical pay range for this role is: $144,200.00 - $288,400.00. This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors.
