Description
Summary:
Responsible for underwriting consumer direct and indirect loans; including possible dealer cultivation/maintenance; compliance. Loan authority granted as knowledge base warrants. Provides leadership for the department in the interest of overall growth and development of the financial institution and it's lenders. Under general supervision, but in accordance with established policies and procedures, makes and services a variety of consumer loans. Accountable for complying with all Bank Secrecy Act and Anti Money Laundering regulations, bank policies and procedures.
Essential Duties:

  1. Responsible for direct and indirect consumer loan underwriting. This includes:
  2. Analyzing consumer loans requests; approving and/or declining loan requests; establishing terms of loans.
  3. Assisting branch personnel with loan approvals.
  4. User on bank lending platforms such as Laser Pro, Decision Pro, etc.
  5. May serve as member of CBI Loan Ops, Fair Lending/CRA or Compliance committees.
  6. Ensures bank's compliance with lending policies and practices, protecting the Bank's interests in matters of adequate documentation, adherence to Bank policy, and the various laws and regulations applicable to loan operations, as well as the exercise of sound credit decisions.
  7. Stays up-to-date on new and changing bank lending regulations.
  8. Joins area service clubs and organizations and represents the bank at functions and meetings.
  9. Actively upholds the organization's vision, mission and values, encompassing mutual respect, honoring commitments, working with integrity and accepting responsibility for own actions.
  10. Demonstrates knowledge of and adherence to EEO policy, shows respect and sensitivity for cultural differences, promotes working environment free of harassment of any type.

Requirements
Qualifications:
These specifications are general guidelines based on the minimum experience normally considered essential to the satisfactory performance of this position. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required to perform the position in a satisfactory manner.   • Associate's degree from a two year college or university; or two or more years of related experience and/or training; or the equivalent combination of education and experience. Work related experience should consist of a background in lending, sales, and customer service. Educational experience, through in-house training sessions, formal school or financial industry related curriculum, should be applicable to the financial industry.
  • 2+ years of bank experience.
  • Intermediate skills in computer operation; word processing and spreadsheet software programs.
  • Intermediate math skills; calculate interest, commissions, proportions, and percentages; balance accounts; add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals; locate routine mathematical errors; compute rate, ratio and percent, including the drafting and interpretation of bar graphs.
  • Exceptional oral, written and interpersonal communication skills with the ability to apply common sense to carry out instructions and instruct others, interpret documents, understand procedures, write reports and correspondence, speak clearly to customers and employees.
  • Ability to deal with complex problems involving multiple facets and variables in non-standardized situations.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work with no supervision while performing duties.
  • Current driver's license and a vehicle with appropriate insurance coverage if required to drive in the course of performing assigned duties and responsibilities.
