Health care professional or clinician who oversees and mentors less experienced clinical staff, assigns work, maintains schedules and assists the Administrative Manager and other leadership in the implementation of policies, workflows and processes. Purchasing, payroll, records control and human resources for the head of a department


Responsibilities

  1. Oversees clinical staff in assigned area, and assists department management in implementation of day to day activities and processes.
  2. Responsible for training staff on clinical office protocols and techniques.
  3. Responsible for documentation and maintaining patient immunization records, Coumadin registry, administering vaccines/injectable(s) and other related clinical duties.
  4. Assists providers with patient education.
  5. Assesses new staffs’ clinical office protocols (i.e., vitals, phlebotomy) prior to probationary performance appraisal.
  6. Assists in planning budgetary needs by analyzing short- and long-term program plans. Collaborates with department leadership to ensure the completion of the annual budget and subsequent monitoring of the financial status of the department, unit, or division.

Establishes major schedules, task assignments and allocation of manpower, space and equipment to ensure conformance with departmental goals and objectives.

  1. Interprets and administers personnel policies such as hiring, performance appraisals, training, and staff disciplinary activity and salary recommendations.
  2. Assists management with triaging, stocking supplies, reordering clinical supplies, etc., as needed.
  3. Assists management with annual competencies and performance appraisals.
  4. Verifies that all quality improvement protocols are being complied with.
  5. Mentors, trains and/or conducts orientation for new office support staff and monitors performance.
  6. Researches, locates and compiles information for reports. Assembles and categorizes figures for computation and calculations. Prepares statistical reports.
  7. Assists management with improving workflows and processes.
  8. Resolves patient/family issues in the absence of the Administrative Manager.
  9. Other relevant duties as assigned.


Education Requirements:

Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of experience and education. i.e. HS/GED diploma plus five years of experience.

Experience Requirements:

2+ years in a medical office setting, with some management or supervisory experience required. Related administrative or business experience preferred.

eClinical Works or EPIC experience an additional plus.

Licensing and Certification Requirements (if applicable)
