Summary :


  • An established East Coast Importer/Shipper/Repacker is seeking an experienced Demand Planner.
  • Responsible for analyzing, estimating, and communicating supply issues of their assigned category.
  • The Demand Planner compares inventory, production projections, and sales forecasts and identifies critical time frames to support allocations and maximize order fulfillment.
  • This position leads the dialogue each week for their respective customers and products with key counterparts in Production, Operations, QA, Sales and Marketing.
  • Our client is based in the greater Philadelphia/New Jersey area. Being based in the office fulltime would be welcomed but they will entertain hybrid or possible fully remote candidates with the right experience.


Responsibilities:

  • Develop, update and maintain demand planning models for the assigned category.
  • Assist in the development of business cases, supply strategies, measures and action items.
  • Organize, compile and archive critical plan data and documents (i.e. Supplier Agreements and Contracts).
  • Create a Supply Plan for different time frames in the future. Work closely with Regional Production teams in decision making as plans continue to evolve/change.
  • Track plan/execution performance and communicate relevant variances on a weekly basis to Sales, Marketing, and Finance.
  • Develop and maintain Purchasing relationships with Company network of growers and third parties.
  • Consult/inform the rest of the organization about our plans, and assure good hand-offs and communication.
  • Interact with sales, marketing, and customer finance to understand demand forecast drivers.
  • Use and maintain the Demand Planning software as the primary forecasting system tool.
  • Closely coordinate and communicate daily production and action plans with Operations and Logistics.
  • Follow Company policies and practices while representing it in an ethical and business-like manner in all interactions with employees, governmental agencies, growers, customers, etc.
  • Ensure the security of company’s confidential and proprietary information and materials.
  • Maintain sufficient inventory quantities across all locations to insure constant production and maximize order fulfillment.
  • Determine and maintain Min/Max values in Inventory are required in a weekly basis and adjust for seasonality.
  • Issue Inventory Updates per location, and work with Sales in Sales promotions and production allocations.
  • Maintain DP Tools Daily to insure proper decision making and inventory allocation
  • Determine and issue POs for vendors as needed.
  • Assist Sales in the development of the Sales Forecast for the assigned category.
  • Establish economic re-order points for all Raw Materials in your category.
  • Communicate with Growers Network and Third Party suppliers in regards to quantities and quality issues.
  • BOM (Bill of Materials) Input


Education/Experience:

  • BA/BS college degree or equivalent experience
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel
  • 2-3 years’ experience in the fresh produce industry required
