Job Requirements / Description

The Branch Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of their commercial paint branch, making sure it runs smoothly and effectively. This includes managing all aspects of branch operations, including:

  1. Scheduling
  2. Customer service
  3. Marketing
  4. Merchandising
  5. Inventory
  6. Financial reporting
  7. Safety

You will also manage, develop, and motivate branch employees as well as develop business strategies to meet goals and increase sales in a competitive marketplace. In this position, you will grow the company's market share by selling to wholesale customers. This position's typical schedule is 48 hours per week, which may include evenings and/or weekends.

Job duties involve contact with customers, which may include minors; and access to cash and other payment methods, electronic equipment, personal information, store merchandise, and other items of value. This access may be supervised or unsupervised. The Company has determined that a review of criminal history is necessary to protect the business, its operations, and reputation, as well as the safety of the Company's customers, staff, employees, vendors, contractors, and the general public.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Develop business strategies to increase sales and optimize profitability
  2. Meet sales goals by training, motivating, mentoring, and providing feedback to store employees
  3. Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction through excellent service
  4. Build and maintain knowledge of all products to ensure effective customer recommendations
  5. Build positive relationships with wholesale customers
  6. Complete branch administration
  7. Ensure compliance with policies and procedures including safety, loss prevention, and security
  8. Maintain outstanding store condition
  9. Provide accurate and timely reporting as required
  10. Manage employee training, development, performance management, and corrective action
  11. Respond to and resolve any customer and/or employee complaints
  12. Make outside sales calls to increase market share

Minimum Requirements:

  1. Must be at least eighteen (18) years of age
  2. Must be legally authorized to work in the country of employment without needing sponsorship for employment work visa status now or in the future
  3. Must have a valid, unrestricted Driver's License
  4. Must have at least a High School diploma or GED
  5. Must be able, with or without reasonable accommodation, to retrieve material from shelves and floor stacks and lift and carry up to 50 lbs. frequently and up to 70 lbs. on occasion
  6. Must have at least one (1) year of experience in leadership role(s), supervising others, or leading teams
  7. Must have at least one (1) year experience working in a retail, sales, or customer service position

Preferred Qualifications:

  1. Have previous work experience selling paint and paint related products
  2. Have work experience using timekeeping and/or customer relationship management ("CRM") systems
  3. Have an associate degree or higher in business, sales, or marketing
  4. Have at least one (1) year of work experience as an Assistant Store or Branch Operations Manager for Sherwin-Williams
  5. Willingness to relocate for future job opportunities
  6. Ability to read, write, comprehend, and communicate in more than one language
  7. Ability to read, write, comprehend, and communicate in Spanish
