This position will report to the Director of the Massey Comprehensive Cancer Center.
The Robert A. Winn Diversity in Clinical Trials: Career Development Award (Winn CDA) is a transformative two-year program dedicated to supporting the career development of early-stage investigator physicians. It prepares them to become independent clinical trial investigators focused on advancing health equity through their research and mentoring.
This leadership role is crucial for the following reasons:
- Comprehensive Oversight and Strategic Leadership (30%) - The ED will ensure that the program remains aligned with its mission to advance health equity by fostering the development of clinical trial investigators committed to this cause.
- Fundraising and Resource Development (20%) - The ED will work with the ED, CIPP, Cancer Center Director and the Director, Philanthropy for Winn Awards on the development and execution of a comprehensive fundraising plan.
- Marketing and Communications (10%) - The ED will create and implement a strategic marketing and communications plan that highlights the program’s unique focus on advancing health equity.
- Application, Review, and Tracking Process (5%) - The ED will oversee the application process for CDA to ensure a rigorous and equitable selection of candidates.
- Curriculum Development (15%) - The ED will be responsible for developing and updating the annual curriculum for the two-year program.
- Evaluation, KPI Development, and Data Analysis (15%) - The ED will lead the development of key performance indicators (KPIs) and oversee the collection and analysis of data to assess the program’s effectiveness.
- Alumni Engagement and Network Development (5%) - The ED will collaborate with the ED, CIPP to develop and implement a comprehensive alumni engagement strategy.
This is a restricted position.
This position is eligible for flexible work arrangements.
Qualifications
Education:
- Doctoral Degree (Ph.D., M.D., or equivalent) in a relevant field such as Educational Psychology, Medical Education, Public Health, or Clinical Research.
- Training in Clinical Trials or Healthcare Administration is highly desirable.
Experience, Knowledge, and Skills:
- At least 15 years of leadership experience in medical education managing large-scale educational initiatives and multimillion-dollar budgets.
- Proven expertise in setting strategic goals and implementing cross-functional collaboration.
- Demonstrated ability to oversee global teams and complex projects.
- Experience in designing and managing clinical training programs.
- Demonstrated experience in managing multimillion-dollar budgets.
- Experience in fundraising or securing program support from diverse sources.
- Designed and developed curricula for diverse medical education programs.
- Extensive experience in the production of training manuals and interactive training materials.
- Proficient in leveraging outcomes data to enhance program effectiveness.
- Deep commitment and expertise to advancing health equity.
- Expertise in fostering alumni networks and maintaining professional development relationships.
- Knowledge of industry and nonprofit funding sources.
- Flexibility to navigate challenges and provide innovative solutions.
