Summary:
Reporting directly to the VP of Operations, the Director of Foundation Operations will lead the business operations and administrative departments and functions of the Foundation while focused on continuous quality improvement and rigorous project management. In partnership with the VP of Operations they will support all aspects of the Foundation daily operations and work with team members from the Foundation and throughout the larger Children's Health system to develop, evaluate and implement initiatives designed to improve management effectiveness, daily efficiencies, reduce unnecessary costs and improve the performance of all Foundation departments. This position will oversee the execution of short- and long-term strategies to support the fundraising goals and essential functions of the Foundation.

Responsibilities:
  • Operations Management – With support of VP of Operations, lead operations team responsible for talent management, contract negotiations, and financial reporting. Support the implementation and continued development of operational programs, including content development, customized learning and professional training and management of physical recognition in partnership with stewardship. Develop and implement operational plans while overseeing business processes and analyzing operational efficiency. Ensure strategies, practices, and initiatives for Foundation are in alignment with Children’s Health Systems goals and strategic priorities.
  • Administrative Management – The Director plays an integral role in the daily and ongoing running of the Foundation office and functions, including but not limited to managing Administrative staff, all activities regarding vendors, deadline and delivery of creative projects, training of staff, oversight and purchasing equipment, verification of timekeeping and confidential/special projects for the President and VPs of the Foundation.
  • Project Management and Process Improvement - Provide project management and support to optimize Foundation team efficiencies for the Foundation’s strategic priorities, essential functions and key cross-team initiatives. Lead the effort to build a cohesive and consistent improvement culture at the Foundation, characterized by continuous learning, standardized practice, measurable outcomes and optimal and coordinated use of resources. This extends to overseeing the work of their own teams as well as training selected staff members throughout the Foundation in project management best practices and the practical application of quality improvement methods. The Director will effectively lead, manage, mentor, motivate and develop team members to meet program goals.
  • Financial Management – In partnership with the VP of Operations monitor and analyze financial and budgetary performance, including explanation and justification of actual vs. budget variations; ensure financial viability through monthly monitoring of financial variances; meet quarterly with division leadership team to assess variances and look at ways to improve efficiency; and assist with the annual budgeting process while partnering with finance.
  • Team Management and People Leadership - Supervise team members across multiple departments to achieve operational and administrative goals. Work succinctly with Foundation leadership, including Directors, AVPs, VPs, and SVPs. Provide effective guidance and motivation for team members while analyzing project and staffing needs. Establish and communicate performance and professional standards. Provide regular guidance, performance feedback, and ongoing professional development opportunities. Always maintain strong working relationships with team members, internal stakeholders, and external vendors.
How You’ll Be Successful:
WORK EXPERIENCE
  • At least 7 years of related experience required.
  • At least 10 years of management and leadership experience preferred.
EDUCATION
  • Four-year Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required.
  • Graduate or professional work or advanced degree; or equivalent experience preferred.
  • Healthcare related discipline (public health) or quality systems management or business administration preferred.
