GENERAL FUNCTIONS
Source, secure and maintain YMCA accounts under the YMCA Employee Benefits’ (YEB) programs. Develop customer relationships with prospective and current accounts to ensure satisfaction of YEB programs and ultimate retention. This position works with the Director, Sales and Service and the Senior Client Manager to establish consultative relationships with YMCAs to help them adopt and implement best practices in health and welfare benefit plan delivery, positioning YEB as the plan of choice among YMCAs.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
- A bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience is required. A Certified Employee Benefit Specialist (CEBS) or other human resources certification is desired.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in employee benefits including group health sales and service or equivalent experience in group benefits administration is strongly preferred.
- Experience in human resources administration in a YMCA or other federated setting is highly desired.
- Demonstrated experience in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access) and industry related software.
- Demonstrated business relationship development skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to deliver effective presentations to all employee levels is required.
- Must be able to travel up to 25% of the time.
- Essential knowledge of Health and Welfare Plans as well as related legal/legislative knowledge (HIPPA, COBRA, ACA, etc.) is required.
- Demonstrated customer service skills and the ability to work with individuals at all employee levels is required.
- Demonstrated problem-solving skills and the ability to multi-task is required.
- Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines and manage sensitive information with extreme confidentiality.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Responsible for overall account management function and retention of customer base.
- Provide the level of consulting and education necessary to meet each YMCA’s health and benefit needs and educate YMCAs about industry best practices.
- Works cooperatively with YMCA Employee Benefits team members to conduct the mission and objectives of the plan.
- Assist new customers with onboarding to YMCA Employee Benefits to ensure effective partnership.
- Develop and deliver presentations to YMCA leadership and employees including, but not limited to, open enrollment, claim review, and legislative updates.
- Provide effective consulting and education to assigned YMCAs as needed and no less than annually, both virtually and in person during the YMCA’s renewal period.
- Represent YEB at local meetings of YMCA leadership such as executive conferences, and other national, regional, and state meetings.
- Assist in preparing and releasing proposals unique to each YMCA’s request and needs.
- Manage ongoing dependent verification process in coordination with outside vendor including acting as liaison with YMCA administrators during appeals.
- All other duties as assigned.
EFFECT ON END RESULTS/ STRATEGIC IMPACT
This individual contributes to improved retention of covered employees of local YMCAs in YMCA Employee Benefits’ plans by supporting YMCA’s through consultation, education, and relationship building.
This position offers a base salary of $74,700.00 up to $99,600.00. Final salary is determined by required qualifications, experience, and education for this role.
