Current Open Positions:

Center Director - Experience in a child care center required. You will oversee the operations of the center. You will manage your team, ultimately providing the highest quality of care and education. You must have an understanding of licensing and Step Up to Quality requirements and maintain the Gold rating. You will manage payroll, scheduling, and retention as well as other job duties. We require a Center Director to have 3 years of administrative experience in an ODJFS center along with a minimum of an Associate's Degree in ECE or a Bachelor degree in education or a related field. This is a full-time salaried position.

Location: This position location is to be determined. Locations are in Cuyahoga and Lorain County.

Salary Range: starting salary is $50,000 ranging up to $52,500, which is based on education and experience.

This is what you will do!

  • Demonstrate cross-cultural competency while working with Horizons diverse population.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of child care licensing rules.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of SUTQ requirements, required to maintain a Gold Rating.
  • Provide staff mentoring, management, and leadership.
  • Ensure customer satisfaction; maintain enrollment and attendance percentages.
  • Payroll, staffing hours, hiring and scheduling; maintain staff longevity.
  • Be a master teacher: provide guidance regarding curriculum, instruction practices, and programming requirements.
  • Build systems to support and oversee the safety and security of the children, center, and general environment.
  • Manage and provide oversight of projects and programs as needed for example, Head Start, ECE, UPK, marketing, and summer camp.
  • Understand and oversee basic business operations (accounts receivable, supplies, and organization-specific duties for business operations).
  • Support the Center Business Coordinator whose primary role is tracking enrollment, attendance, and billing.

Qualifications:

  • 3 years of administrative experience in an ODJFS center is required.
  • This applicant must have a BA in education or related field or a minimum Associate's degree in ECE, education, or approved related field (child and family development).
  • A minimum Level 3 CPL required (OCCRRA); you must qualify to be on the administrative license for a Gold-rated center.
  • Willingness to update job knowledge with required ODJFS Licensing Rules and Ohio Approved professional development opportunities and industry trends.
  • Independent worker, problem solver, and troubleshooting skills very helpful.
