Description
The Procurement Project Manager will assist in planning, directing, and coordinating activities pertaining to the procurement of equipment, materials, and services required for the construction and maintenance of solar projects in accordance with company policies and governmental regulations. The primary function of the procurement project manager is to manage and execute the procurement process, while maintaining adequate stock levels and staying under budget and on time.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the procure-to-pay (P2P) lifecycle for a variety of complex and critical materials and services as required for the successful construction of solar projects.
- Work with the project managers and onsite management on supply needs for current and scheduled jobs.
- Assist in leading the construction effort from estimating, management and scheduling.
- Assist project managers with all subcontractor communications.
- Review purchase orders and invoices for accuracy.
- Work with the Warehouse Managers to maintain adequate stock levels.
- Read, interpret and understand all project documentation such as insurance, permitting and project scheduling.
- Utilize critical thinking to overcome supply chain related challenges to maintain procurement schedules.
- Assist managers in cost savings through vendor negotiations, market analysis, and eliminating waste.
- Maintain a culture of continuous improvement and problem solving.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
Required Education and Experience
- Two years minimum of construction procurement experience in related field.
- Proficiency with reading blueprints, plans, specs, contracts, subcontracts, and purchase orders.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite.
- Proficiency with Procore, or similar construction management software.
Additional Eligibility Qualifications
- Preferred bachelor’s degree in construction management or a related field.
- Experience working on solar construction.
