The News Movement (TNM) is a new media business bringing together leading industry figures and young, passionate journalists to help reset how we tell “the news” in an era of declining trust and increasing misinformation. We know that many voices are missing from the present conversation - we want to change that.
We are driven by our purpose - to help millions of people around the world be better informed. We will do that by solving the under-supply of trusted, objective, high-quality news and useful information on social media and other digital platforms.
We are particularly focused on serving younger audiences between 18 and 30 and believe that factual, unbiased journalism can be told in different and exciting ways via the channels that our audiences already enjoy. We want to explain the world and uncover the stories that matter.

The News Movement is looking for an ambitious, organized, Account Director with an appetite to run and grow a variety of clients. Working in a team of around ten people, this calm operator will be the beating heart of our commercial arm - helping our sales team to grow existing clients and convert new business, as well as creatively deliver on a range of briefs and sectors.
Responsibilities
- Ideally from an agency background (be that comms, creative or digital), and/or used to working with multiple internal stakeholders and across clients from a variety of industries, our candidate will be responsible for helping to grow the brand, innovate the business and be exposed to the senior-level decision-making.
- Entrepreneurial in spirit and rigorous in delivery, our candidate will ideally have around 6 to 8 years experience behind them, with a great record for account handling and all that comes with it.
- Proposals and pitching: be that writing, presenting and working in a close-knit team to listen to clients’ problems and deliver creative responses; you will have excellent written skills and quick to interpret a brief.
- Team and stakeholder management: working in a small company, you will be exposed to senior leadership on both the commercial and editorial side of the business. As well as managing multiple inputs and meetings, you will also be required to manage a small junior team, making sure they are learning as they go, not just taking orders(!)
- Client management: at the core of this role is your ability to establish trust fast with existing and new clients. From excellent attention to detail, through to reporting and tracking, we will look to you to establish and build systems that work for the speed at which our clients move.
- Budgets and reconciliation: Making sure that ideas are costed effectively is a must, but then tracking servicing levels will also help us stay on track as we start to hit intense stages of growth.
