Finance Transformation

As a Finance Transformation team member , in Crowe's Consulting Practice your role will be focused on helping clients resolve business needs in the areas of accounting and finance.   • Accounting Consulting (Financial reporting, accounting standard implementation, finding mitigation)
  • Compliance (Attestation engagements, incurred cost audits, GAGAS performance audits, grant compliance consulting, subrecipient monitoring, indirect cost compliance)
  • Internal Audit (Audits, co-source internal audit, outsourced internal audit, risk assessment, internal control assessment, Enterprise Risk Management)

Consulting services a wide breadth of industries, from Financial Services, Manufacturing, Life Sciences, Technology, Media and Telecom, Public Sector and a host of Diversified micro industries. We help serve clients in the following ways:

  • Providing accounting support services to clients such as SOX and Internal control services, IPO readiness support, and process optimization and automation.
  • Assisting with accounting standard implementation projects, such as - Leasing ASC842 Projects that involve contract review, data extraction, creation of amortization and depreciation tables using Crowe developed software, initial and periodic journal entry calculations.
  • Researching and devising solutions to complex issues involving accounting and finance processes and technical accounting matters.
  • Drafting technical accounting memos.
  • Providing other value-added recommendations both to our clients and to help improve the firm.
  • Assisting Public Sector clients with navigating the financial and capital markets, developing strategies for funding various projects, and completing long-term capital and operational planning. Typical projects in this role include budget assistance (both revenue and expenditure estimation), bond market research, financial modeling, revenue analysis, assistance preparing utility rate and fee studies, attendance at public meetings; participation in client meetings; and assistance preparing analyses for economic development projects.

Responsibilities:

  • Understand financial and operational business processes within an organization in relation to proper internal controls and their execution.
  • Create and deliver value-added reports and projects through strong deliverables that simplify complex issues.
  • Collaborate and develop partnerships with clients, prospects, colleagues and communities.
  • Capable of working in a demanding, deadline-driven environment.
  • Ability to travel up to 60% or more annually (when working as a full-time staff consultant).

Required Qualifications:

  • Pursuing Bachelor or Masters degree in one of following preferred majors or similar background:
    • Accounting
    • Actuarial Science
    • Forensic Accounting
    • Internal Audit
    • Economics
  • Moderate understanding of Accounting and Finance structures as it relates to financial reporting.
  • Familiarity and/or proficiency with data analytics applications like PowerBI and/or Tableau and with programming languages (e.g., SAS, R, Python, etc.) a plus.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Exhibit strong communication skills when consulting with senior management, C-Suite client personnel, and government regulators.
  • Learn and work well both in teams and independently.
  • Adapt to continuously changing risk environments and effectively manage time.
  • Demonstrate intellectual curiosity to enable a deeply specialized skill set.
  • Demonstrate strong writing and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work both independently, in a team environment, and effectively manage time.
  • Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
  • Desire to sit for and obtain CPA, or other supported certification.
  • Aptitude for Technical Accounting; Analytical.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite applications with specific emphasis on Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
