Description
This is a highly technical position, requiring skills necessary to deal with all aspects of networked personal computers including configuration, troubleshooting/repair, installation, and maintenance. It involves Service Desk support consisting of, customer service, computer/tablet/phone equipment inventory, and PC application support. This position will assume supervisory responsibility for the technical support staff in the absence of the IT Director.
Examples of Duties
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 1. Responsible for maintaining an accurate inventory of all end-user computer equipment, mobile devices, and software by department.
2. Establishes standards and specifications for computer hardware and software as pre-authorization for departmental purchases.
3. Responsible for contacting, evaluating, and assisting third-party software vendors with department personnel to determine functional fit to defined requirements.
4. Responsible for maintaining the ticketing system database to prioritize and monitor reported problems to insure timely resolution.
5. Assists in implementation of new systems and the associated training as required.
6. Ensures proper Change Management procedures are followed and profile backups are made before implementing any changes.
7. Proficient in creating, reviewing and updating Statement of Procedures.
8. Evaluates user and department needs and recommends hardware/software to meet CIP or any departmental technology requirements for purchase.
9. Responsible for the development and training of the Technical Support staff and Interns.
10. Responsible for overseeing Service Desk staff on a variety of issues including the day-to-day operation, telephone calls, email, chat, and personnel requests and providing direction to the Technical Support staff.
11. Responsible for cellular phones and tablet contracts, security software support and, end-user training.
12. Proficient in network protocols and network components and configuring Windows network client software.
13. Proficient in Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager and System Center Service Manager ticketing system.
14. Responsible for networking PC clients which involves the setup and configuration of network cards, communications software, network protocols, email and internet access.
15. Proficient in desktop computer configuration, test and installs standard desktop and portable computers, devices, and associated peripherals and network environments with strong diagnostic, troubleshooting abilities while ensuring that PC workstations are safe for usage.
16. Responsible for installation, configuration, diagnosis, repair, maintenance, and upgrade of desktop computers including hardware, application software, operating systems, and peripheral devices utilizing Service Center Configuration Manager (SCCM)
17. Proactively works on special projects as assigned maintaining organization and control of tasks. Documents and tracks project milestones.
18. Provides progress/status updates on a weekly basis or upon request and ensures any scheduling delays or conflicts are communicated and addressed.
19. Proficient in administering Zoom, Microsoft TEAMS meetings and webinars.
20. Ability to interpret OPD's reporting needs and requirements and articulate them clearly and thoroughly to the report writing vendor.
21. Run reports from existing SSRS/Tableau/Crimeview/Crystal report systems for administrative staff as needed.

Minimum Qualifications
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Graduation from an accredited 4-year college or technical school with major coursework in Computer Engineering or related field.
Minimum of 5 years of paid experience in Technical Support of desktop computer hardware, software, and networking. An equivalent combination of training and professional experience may substitute for educational requirements.
LICENSES/CERTIFICATES:
Must possess and maintain a valid Florida Operators Driver's License with an acceptable driving record.
CompTIA A+ certification (or obtained within 12-months of appointment)
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Must be able to be onsite within sixty minutes when called for an emergency.
