Job Description:

  • Global Trade Compliance Manager

Micron is seeking a Global Trade Manager to join our Global Trade Compliance team. You will work with various teams across Micron to provide strategic mentorship on Micron’s trade compliance program, including import and export classification activities, overseeing aspects of U.S. import and Customs operations, assisting in development and implementation of analytic and automated tools for monitoring and auditing, and other applicable import/export laws and regulations.

Tasks and Responsibilities: The following duties are crucial to the successful and satisfactory performance of this job. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Manage import and export classification activities performed by team members in the U.S. and abroad with a focus on semiconductors, electronics, and encryption.
  • Oversee team of US based import and customs operations team focused on enhancing current processes around customs entry, ISA, duty drawback, etc.
  • Support program initiatives to enhance monitoring and audit capabilities through the use of analytics and automation.
  • Provide leadership for global trade compliance that supports global business objectives and satisfies international legal requirements for imports and exports.
  • Develop process improvements including policies and procedures to ensure the integration of vital trade compliance program elements into business functions' work streams.
  • Liaise with Micron business functions to support compliance with local, regional, and global trade compliance operations.
  • Support internal and external self-assessments and audit commitments, including responsibilities for process improvements and corrective actions.
  • Develop and deliver training to internal business functions and business collaborators regarding critical trade compliance activities.

Primary Job Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • Ideal candidate will have 5-10+ years of experience working in trade compliance.
  • Expertise in import and export classification activities with a focus on semiconductors, electronics, and encryption.
  • Significant experience with U.S. import and customs related activities including ISA and duty drawback.
  • Experience in building analytical and automated tools for enhancing existing monitoring and audit capabilities.
  • Experience working in SAP and automated global trade management tools.
  • Project management expertise.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and deliver trade compliance training and briefings to internal collaborators.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and make impactful decisions.
  • Flexible and able to balance multiple priorities at once and ability to quickly adjust priorities to meet business needs.
  • Must qualify as a “U.S. Person” as defined in the ITAR and EAR.
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally, as needed.

The US base salary range that Micron Technology estimates it could pay for this full-time position is:

$167,500.00 - $295,000.00

Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries of the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional job-related factors, including knowledge, skills, experience, tenure and relevant education or training. Additional compensation may include benefits, discretionary bonuses and equity.
