POSITION SUMMARY:
The Security Architect builds solutions to ensure the security of the organization's infrastructure and information assets. This position protects against unauthorized access, modification, or destruction while supporting control objectives to meet regulatory and contractual requirements. This position supports security and business initiatives. A security architect builds, designs, and installs security systems for hybrid on-premise, SaaS and cloud computing and data storage systems. Your duties include assessing and testing existing security systems, updating security controls and maintaining a high security standard.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Architecture practice in hybrid on-premise, SaaS and cloud Infrastructure, Microservices and Data applications collaborating with IT and developers
- Establish strategic security architecture direction for security adoption, including standards and frameworks (NIST) that are aligned with overall business strategy
- Achieve security architecture compliance for data privacy requirements, as well as state and federal regulations
- Participate in architecture governance processes for both information security and the Enterprise
- Experience in driving architecture and business innovation thought processes
- Clearly communicates and presents analyses and results; and persuades others by supporting ideas with logical arguments/data
- Technical knowledge of AWS/Azure public cloud, cloud native design, microservice architecture, containerization, and non-functional requirements
- Create and maintain architectural diagrams
- Assist in Information Security audits and 3rd party reviews where applicable.
- Keep abreast of industry security trends and current threat profiles.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- 3+ years of experience as a Security Architect
- Strong research and troubleshooting skills
- Experience in highly regulated environments, preferably Financial Services or similar
ESSENTIAL KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Have a structured approach to managing responsibilities.
- Broad understanding of current security technologies, security industry trends, etc.
- Quick learner, adaptable, flexible, customer service oriented, a team player, and always closes the loop with the customer.
CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, and/or REGISTRATION:
- AWS Certification(s), Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), Certified Cloud Security Professional (CCSP) or other relevant certifications.
- BA/BS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or equivalent experience
LOCATION & COMPENSATION:
- The base salary range for this role is $130,000 – $190,000 depending on the individual’s experience
- Role can be 100% fully remote depending on geographic location
