What you are empowered to accomplish:

Plummer is looking for an individual that is communicative and engaging and possesses strong business development, leadership, and technical skills. In this role, you will support the Area Leader in growing business within the area through developing and fostering client relationships, identifying opportunities, developing and implementing capture plans, and coaching and supporting other client service managers and opportunity managers.

Relationship building is paramount to Plummer’s success and our team will provide you with guidance and mentorship. In this role, you will report to the Mountain West Area Leader (geographic business leader) and have the opportunity to grow the area market share while partnering with business leaders to identify and develop client relationships.

Our Ideal Teammate:

Our ideal teammate will have a minimum of 20 years' experience in project delivery in the AEC industry, at least 5 of which include consultive sales in the geographic area.

Responsibilities

The Growth Leader will have the primary responsibility for sales and revenue growth for a defined region within the geographic area. Within this region, the Growth Leader will:

  • Model sales leadership- develop and foster relationships with key clients within the region by engaging directly in key client and top pursuit activities.
  • Grow stature and revenue with existing clients. Grow the number of clients and revenue with new clients.
  • Develop and implement business development strategy.
  • Own and maintain responsibility for Go/No-go decisions within the region.
  • Assign, direct, coach, and mentor Client Service Managers and Opportunity Managers.
  • Manage and prioritize the region’s sales portfolio. Hold Client Service Managers and Opportunity Managers accountable for their sales and client growth goals.
  • Drive the client growth business plan development process, ensuring alignment with corporate and area strategic goals, and in collaboration with technical practices and design services.
  • Manage the business development budget and ROI associated with opportunity development and capture planning.
  • Meet assigned sales goals and metrics.
  • Grow Plummer presence in area conferences through presentations and committee participation by Plummer staff.
  • Support Team Leaders and the Area Leader in recruiting and hiring key talent. Help coordinate growth of the practices across the region. Participate in recruiting efforts and integration of new staff.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor of science in engineering or science. A Master’s degree is preferred but not required. Professional engineering licensure or equivalent licensure in field of specialty is required.
  • Strong business acumen and experience developing sales and pursuit strategies.
  • Background in relationship-based sales, win strategy, and proposal development for competitive opportunities.
  • Strong, inspirational leader with the ability to build cross-functional pursuit teams and influence the decision-making process.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to be decisive and comfortable making decisions that involve risk and uncertainty.
  • Ability to understand the political landscape and its impact on client growth and strategy.
