Our client, an A-rated P&C Insurance Company, is seeking to add a Commercial Lines Underwriting Director of Training and Development their Ohio operations. This person would be responsible for designing, implementing, and overseeing comprehensive training programs to enhance the skills and capabilities of their underwriting team. This role focuses on developing talent, ensuring consistent underwriting practices, and fostering a culture of continuous learning and professional growth.

  • Design and develop comprehensive training programs for new and existing underwriters, covering technical skills, product knowledge, underwriting guidelines, and industry regulations.
  • Implement e-learning modules, workshops, seminars, and hands-on training sessions to cater to various learning styles.
  • Identify high-potential underwriters and create tailored development plans to cultivate their skills and prepare them for leadership roles.
  • Provide mentorship and coaching to underwriters, offering guidance on career development and professional growth.
  • Regularly update and enhance training materials to reflect the latest industry trends, regulatory changes, and company policies.
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts to ensure training content is accurate, relevant, and aligned with business objectives.
  • Ensure all training programs comply with regulatory requirements and support the company's commitment to ethical underwriting practices.
  • Establish and enforce consistent underwriting standards and best practices across the team.
Qualifications:
  • 5+ years of Commercial Lines Underwriting experience.
  • 2+ years of designing and/or implementing Underwriting training and development programs.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong leadership and mentoring abilities.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
Salary/Benefits:
  • $130,000 to $160,000+ annual base salary plus Bonus
