EAD Engineering is looking for a Drafter to prepare and provide first-rate CAD drawings for a multi-discipline core team.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for developing detailed, quality drawings for industrial construction projects, according to engineering sketches and design proposals
- Responsible for layouts to depict functional relationships of equipment
- Confer with engineers and experts to interpret design concepts and determine type of detailed working drawings required for successful project execution
- Review sketches, drawings, and specifications from architects and other engineering specialists, and design, draft and/or implement changes to plans
- Develop detailed designs for construction builds according to engineering sketches and design proposals
- Flexible and accommodating in order to modify and revise designs to correct operating deficiencies or to reduce and/or identify project interferences
- Time manage and prioritize tasks to achieve results within cost and schedule constraints
- Responsible for adhering to all EAD's safety standards and practices
- Perform other related duties as assigned
Requirements:
- Associates of Science Degree in Drafting related field or combination of education and related experience required
- 2 years of experience with AutoCAD Software
- Knowledgeable in drafting practices and procedures
- Able to read and interpret specifications, architectural, electrical and mechanical plans
- Possess organizational skills
- Ability to set priorities and organize work to meet project deadlines
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Self-starter with strong attention to detail
- Ability to multi-task while working on numerous projects simultaneously
- Possess and able to maintain a valid driver's license
- Proficient in Microsoft Office with emphasis in knowledge of Excel, including macros
Preferred Certifications and skills:
- 2 years mechanical drafting field experience preferred
- Experience with equipment general arrangements and electrical schematics a plus
Working Conditions:
- Office, plant, or client site environment*
- Ability to sit and work at computer for extended periods of time
- Ability to walk up numerous flights of stairs/ladders multiple times a day and/or work in tight spaces in extreme conditions
- May work near moving mechanical parts and equipment*
- Office, Commercial and/or Industrial setting with the potential of exposure to fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals*
- Periodic weekend, holiday or evening work as needed
- Travel required
*EAD will provide training, administrative/engineering controls, and personal protective equipment as necessary.
