Marshall Lab - Junior Specialist
Department of Biochemistry and Biophysics
UC San Francisco

The Marshall Lab in the Department of Biochemistry and Biophysics is seeking applications for a Junior Specialist position. The position will entail working on two projects in the lab with the following duties:

  • Carrying out immunofluorescence microscopy studies of histone modifications within the macronucleus of Stentor using antibodies that recognize specific histone modifications.
  • Experiments implanting semiconductor chips with biosensors into cells, measuring signals from the chips, and data analysis of the signal data.

Required Qualifications:

  • Individuals appointed at the Junior rank must possess a baccalaureate degree (or equivalent degree) or at least four years of research experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with immunofluorescence microscopy
  • Experience with data analysis using R
  • Academic training in cell and molecular biology
  • Some familiarity with semiconductor chip technology
  • Experience with real-time qPCR

See Table 24B for the salary range for this position. A reasonable estimate for this position is $53,100-$56,600.
