The company is headquartered in New York City and maintains a distribution facility in Indianapolis, Indiana. Wholesale customers include numerous department stores such as Nordstrom, Bloomingdale’s, Lord & Taylor and Dillard’s, specialty retailers such as Amazon, as well as over 1,200 independent boutiques. Additionally, the company also has a fast growing Direct to Consumer (DTC) business via a company owned website ( With significant growth potential, Lyssé has made it a priority to heavily invest in the DTC channel.
POSITION SUMMARY
We are looking for a Regional Sales Lead to join the dynamic Lyssé New York team. In this role, you'll focus on expanding our West Coast presence, attracting new clients, and driving sales in our showroom. Your responsibilities will encompass managing wholesale sales for current accounts, developing new business opportunities with independent boutiques, engaging with existing and potential online retailers, and growing our department store partnerships.
Key Responsibilities:
- Account Management: Cultivate and sustain relationships with both new and existing clients within the fashion industry.
- Sales Analysis: Collaborate with the Territory Director to regularly assess shipments, orders, sales, stock levels, and merchandising.
- Market Engagement: Lead sales initiatives by scheduling, managing, and executing market activities within the showroom to drive business with current clients.
- Business Development: Focus on acquiring new clients, organizing events, reaching out to companies and organizations to enhance brand visibility, and driving marketing and sales efforts.
- Road Travel: Develop and execute strategic road and cost-effective plans in partnership with seasonal goals, Account Manager, and store needs.
- Trade Shows: Attend and host trade shows and relevant in-season events, including regional and smaller hotel shows within your territory. Eventually, recruit and train independent Sales Consultants for potential trunk shows in our studio or local areas.
- Sales Achievement: Develop and implement strategic sales plans, including pre-season and in-season goals, to meet company targets. Explore new business opportunities and markets for expansion and visit stores where potential engagement could lead to new openings. Continuously manage key customer accounts and ensure strong, ongoing relationships.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
- In-depth knowledge of the regional market, including trends, competitive landscape, and customer preferences.
- Strong grasp of industry-specific practices, products, and standards relevant to fashion.
- Familiarity with managing and nurturing client relationships, including key account management.
- Knowledge of techniques for identifying and pursuing new business opportunities.
- Ability to analyze sales data, market trends, and performance metrics to make informed decisions.
- Capability to develop and execute strategic sales plans and adapt to changing market conditions.
- Strong organizational abilities for managing multiple tasks, projects, and priorities efficiently.
- Proven ability to lead, motivate, and manage a sales team to achieve targets.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor’s Degree (BA/BS)
- Background in Apparel, Business, Professional Services, Marketing, Sales, or related fields.
- 3-5+ years of experience in fashion, apparel, retail, or wholesale.
- Ability to travel 50%-75% of the time.
- Access to a vehicle suitable for transporting collections.
- Self-motivated with an entrepreneurial mindset.
- Strong sense of style and polish, with a passion for relationship-building.
