Be part of the Innovation team, in charge of exploring new AI/Machine Learning models for a variety of use cases that leverage data at SWIFT. You will be working within a team with a broad range of technical, business and analytical skills with initial focus on designing, developing and launching new AI/ML products for global banks and financial institutions. The team accelerates and de-risks product development, ensures our solutions meet user needs and assures that our products and systems are technically robust and scalable.

The Senior Data Scientist role is a part of our Innovation and AI Transformation at Swift. This group orchestrates Data Science activities between various groups located across the globe.

What to expect

In this role you will:

• Work within a team with a broad range of technical, business, and analytical skills
• Build Deep Learning (particularly Transformers) and Federated Learning solutions that can demonstrate the richness of Global Swift data to build accurate and truly innovative ML models
• Advance the value of Swift’s services through the introduction of advanced data science methodologies and solutions, targeting use cases ranging from financial transaction anomaly detection to using Generative AI to support various internal teams
• Enhance and optimize the performance of the Swift Enterprise AI Platform

What will make you successful?

• Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Operations Research or related Engineering degree
• 5 years of hands-on statistical, machine learning or predictive modelling experience in Python programming and using PyTorch libraries
• 2 years of experience working with business customers to define use cases and explore data science approaches to solve business problems
• 5 years of experience working in software engineering projects following agile methodologies
• Considerable hands-on experience in deep learning methodologies, particularly in implementing Transformer architectures
• Excel in agile, business-focused environments
• Strong communication and presentation skills

Preferred qualifications:

• Ph.D. in Computer Science, Data Science, Operations Research or related Engineering degree
• At least 2 years of experience working in data-driven financial solutions
• Experience with deep reinforcement learning methods

The estimated salary range for a new hire into this position in Virginia is 113,330.00 USD Annual MINIMUM to 210,470.00 USD Annual MAXIMUM. Salary may vary depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location. Our compensation packages include a competitive base salary and bonus opportunity for all employees contingent on personal and company performance.
