JOB SUMMARY

The Director of Business Systems will set the strategic direction of the organization’s business systems, including Salesforce, Quipware ERP, and others, and serve as a subject matter expert. The Director will work with company leaders and organizational stakeholders to understand business needs and customize/develop business systems to support process improvement, automation, and growth. This role will oversee a team of technical staff supporting internal business systems and managing projects developed by the company’s third-party development partner.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  1. Direct current and future strategy of the organization’s business systems, including Salesforce and other critical platforms, with input from company and business unit leadership.
  2. Manage and prioritize Business Systems development and integration projects to meet organizational goals and support improving internal processes.
  3. Supervise and develop Business Systems staff, focusing on supporting staff in their growth to support current and future business needs.
  4. Manage third-party development vendor partnerships, outsource complex business systems development needs, and oversee middleware integration of business systems by internal team members.
  5. Monitor project timelines and budgets, allocating the appropriate organizational resources to meet the project’s business objectives.
  6. Oversee workflows, automation, and outsourced projects to enhance department and business efficiency.
  7. Create and manage standard operating procedures and team processes for development work.
  8. Oversee design, development, documentation, analysis, creation, testing, or modification of computer systems or programs, including prototypes, based on and related to user or system design specifications.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

  1. Bachelors in computer science, business, or related field required; Master’s preferred.
  2. Minimum of 10 years’ experience in working with or designing/building applications on multiple platforms, with Salesforce/business systems experience strongly preferred.
  3. Minimum of 3 years’ experience managing a team of developers/technical staff.
  4. Experience with mergers and acquisitions preferred.
  5. Experience with Scrum/Agile, data management/security, and/or technical project management preferred.
  6. Experience with SQL development, middleware integrations/Dell Boomi strongly preferred.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS

  1. Ability to be a subject matter expert/partner to and communicate with high-level business leadership.
  2. Knowledge of various platforms and operating systems.
  3. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, with advanced Excel skills.
  4. Ability to work independently and to effectively prioritize demands and execute tasks.
  5. Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey information to internal and external customers in a clear and concise manner.
  6. Strong project management and organizational skills.
  7. Strong analytical skills and problem-solving abilities.
